Monomeric vinyl – a popular solution
Monomeric vinyl is a popular and cost-effective material used in large-format printing. Advertising on monomeric vinyl is used in outdoor and indoor advertising. Monomeric vinyl is self-adhesive, which makes application much easier. Printing on monomeric vinyl is characterised by high colour saturation.
Surfaces to which the vinyl will be applied should be free from bulges, creases, ripples and protrusions (the vinyl has no plastic properties). The surface where the application will be carried out should be non-deforming and rigid. In addition, monomeric vinyl is an excellent material for creating creative advertising or interior decoration.
Monomeric vinyl – types and adhesives used
The following adhesives are most commonly used for applying monomeric vinyl: permanent, removable, channelised. Other adhesives used are grey or black, which are used when you want to mask an unsightly surface under the vinyl, or other graphics already on it. Monomeric vinyl has an outdoor lifespan of up to approx. 1 year.
Printing on self-adhesive vinyl with laminate
The use of a laminate results in a significant increase in the lifespan of the vinyl. Its structure is strengthened and it is protected against fading. Monomeric vinyl additionally protected with a laminate is more resistant to the negative effects of sun or rain – it retains its aesthetic appearance longer and can also be cleaned using mild agents.
